Potraits
On a silvery ground, fourteen round or oval archetype murrina portrait canes, including Robin Hood, Julius Caesar, Henry the VIII, Billy the Kid, Ulysses S. Grant, Plato and others, placed in circles. At its center, a scenic village square depicting a store with a well in front of it, two little girls playing and a building nearby. Clothes hang on a rope placed between the two structures. A double garland of red and white meandros canes, interspersed among the images, frames the design. On the underside, a bed of brown gold flecked ground and in its center a round signature cane with the artist’s full name written in calligraphic cursive around a brown ring and the date 2002. Diameter 4”.
