Nestled on the Venezuelan barlovento coast lies the small village of Caruao. The best criollo cocoa beans in the world are produced in this tropical rain forest enclave. Two yellow pods presented in the center are surrounded by the necessary agricultural tools necessary to care for the plantation. From the top-down orange pruning shears, a long-armed black pruning and cutting hook sickle, a long-bladed machete with a black handle, a bright orange water hose, a weaved basket to place the harvested pods or the beans ready for fermentation and lastly a big knife.
